Westminster : L.A. Man Wounded as Two Gunmen Open Fire
A 25-year-old Los Angeles man was shot in the throat inside a business Sunday night by two Vietnamese men who fled on foot, police said.
The victim, identified as Hoang Van Nguyen, was taken to a nearby hospital where he was reported in serious condition, according to Lt. Mike Schliskey.
A motive in the shooting had not been established, Schliskey said, but “as far as we know Mr. Nguyen doesn’t have any political or gang connections.â€
Schliskey said Nguyen had just entered a business--possibly a dance studio--in the 8400 block of Westminster Boulevard about 6:30 p.m. when two men arrived and one of them opened fire. Two or three shots were fired, only one of them striking Nguyen.
The assailants were described as being 19 and 22 years old, one of them wearing a black jacket.
