Faulty electrical wiring touched off an early morning fire Saturday at a Van Nuys shopping center that caused $55,000 in damage, a Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman said.
Twelve engines responded to the blaze at 15333 Sherman Way, department spokesman Jim Wells said. The fire broke out at 1:52 a.m. and took about half an hour to extinguish, he said.
Wells said no one was injured and damage was limited to two of the 25 stores.
