Denver Nugget forward Alex English has offered to relinquish his spot on the All-Star team to teammate Fat Lever, but the National Basketball Assn. won’t permit it.

English, named this week to the West All-Star team by conference coaches, sent a Telex to NBA Commissioner David Stern’s office declining his position on the 12-man squad and asking that it be given to Lever, who has had an outstanding season.
