Indiana Incumbent Wins House Race by 47 Votes

INDIANAPOLIS — The state Recount Commission formally closed the books on the 3rd District congressional race Friday, accepting a final report showing incumbent John Hiler a 47-vote winner over his Democratic challenger. The report by state auditors gave Hiler 75,979 votes to 75,932 for Thomas W. Ward.
