Datapoint Corp., San Antonio, said President and Chief Executive Edward P. Gistaro resigned for personal reasons. He did not announce his plans.
Doris D. Bencsik, executive vice president and chief operating officer, will assume the additional duties of chief executive until a replacement is appointed. Bencsik joined Datapoint in 1982 as vice president, engineering. In November, 1985, she was promoted to executive vice president and chief operating officer and elected to the board.
