Reagan Budget’s ‘Warped Vision’

The “Ship of State” is adrift. The captain is spending most of his time in the dining room with the first-class passengers.
The engine room crew is arguing on how much of the engine can be removed and still run. One group wants to do away with the main shaft and depend on prayer. The rest of the crew is in the main hold arguing over the cargo.
The upper deck passengers know something is amiss but aren’t complaining as long as they can play shuffleboard and room service continues. The lower deck passengers are holding meetings and blaming everyone for everything.
The captain continues to send orders from the dining room for the ship to turn starboard. The officers on the bridge either lack the navigational experience or courage to report that if the ship keeps turning in the same direction it will be going in circles. Aye, lads! The “Ship of State” is adrift!
