Dale Mitchell, who batted .312 in 11 major league seasons but ended his career by making the final out in Don Larsen’s perfect game in the 1956 World Series, died of a heart attack in Tulsa, Okla. He was 65.

Mitchell, an outfielder, played in 1,126 games, all but 19 with the Cleveland Indians.

He led the American League in hits and triples in 1949, and batted .300 or better seven times between 1946 and 1953. He struck out only 108 times in more than 4,000 major league at-bats.
