MOUNT BALDY, Calif. — Two teen-agers from Rancho Cucamonga were found alive and well this morning after surviving a mountain trek that ran afoul of heavy snow and sub-freezing temperatures, authorities said.
Robert Loer and Patrick Lindberg, both 19, had been reported missing Sunday afternoon when they failed to return from a backpacking trip. “They are apparently healthy,” San Bernardino County sheriff’s dispatcher Janice Clayton said after they were located during a search of the Ice House Canyon area of Mt. Baldy. About 90 rescuers participated in the search.
