The body of a woman was found in a Lynwood alley, the second apparent murder victim dumped in the city in five days. A Sheriff’s Department spokesman said the latest victim was identified as Patsy Cox, 32, of Los Angeles. The earlier victim, whose body was found in the 2800 block of Imperial Highway on New Year’s Eve, has been identified as Richelle Jackson, 26, a transient. She had been shot to death, according to a coroner’s spokesman. Although the Southside Killer Task Force examined both death scenes, a Sheriff’s Department spokesman said there was no evidence linking either case to the 17 homicides under investigation by the special team of detectives. Detectives said that there were “visible injuries” on Cox’s body but that the cause of death cannot be determined until an autopsy is performed. Victims of the Southside killer or killers have been stabbed and strangled. Cox’s body was discovered by a passer-by in an alley behind 11240 S. Alameda St.
