Charges of disorderly conduct against eight University of Nebraska football players have been dropped, but one of the school’s assistant coaches was arrested Sunday after a scuffle with a bar owner over a drink tab on Bourbon Street in New Orleans.
The New Orleans police chief announced that the charges would be dropped against the players, two graduate assistants and another man because it would be “in the best interest for all concerned.â€
In a separate incident, Michael Arthur, Nebraska’s assistant strength coach, and his brother were arrested and released after saying they were asked to pay for drinks they hadn’t ordered in a French Quarter strip joint.
Nebraska will play LSU Thursday in the Sugar Bowl.
