Clive Longe, a former decathlon athlete and Bermuda’s national athletics coach, strangled his estranged girlfriend on Christmas Eve, then killed himself by drinking poison two days later, Bermuda police said.
Longe, 47, was said to have been depressed over the breakup with his 34-year-old girlfriend and had been visited by police after he threatened to commit suicide on Christmas Eve. It is believed that he killed the woman shortly after the police left.
