Henning Fired as Falcon Coach

SUWANEE, Ga. — Dan Henning, who failed to post a winning record in his four seasons with the Atlanta Falcons, was fired today as head coach of the NFL club. The Falcons finished 7-8-1 this year after a promising 4-0 start. Henning compiled a 22-41-1 record in four seasons with the club. In a statement from the team’s chairman of the board, Rankin Smith Sr., the Falcons said they will immediately begin a search for a new coach.
