National Semiconductor said it added claims of copyright infringement of the microcode and other proprietary elements of a receiver-transmitter chip, known as a UART, to its suit against United Microelectronics. National Semiconductor contends that a chip being sold by the Taiwanese firm is based on designs copied from National Semiconductor.
