Louie, Bohannon Win in Masters Tennis
Judy Louie of Newport Beach and Dan Bohannon of Orange won titles Sunday in the Southern California Senior Grand Prix Masters tennis tournament at the Rancho Bernardo Inn at San Diego.
Louie, the nation’s top seeded player in women’s 40 singles, defeated second-seeded Andi Polisky of Los Angeles, 6-3, 6-3.
Louie was in control throughout the match, keeping Polisky on the run with deep ground strokes and overhead volleys.
Bohannon, playing in the men’s 35 division, defeated Guy Fritz of Palm Springs, 3-6, 6-3, 6-4. Bohannon was seeded first; Fritz second.
Debbie McCormick of Huntington Beach lost in the final of the women’s 35 division to Dee Williams-Horne of Pasadena, 6-4, 6-1. King Lambert of Santa Ana lost to Mel Lewis of Inglewood in the 55 men’s singles final, 6-0, 6-1.
