Concerned Animal Lovers
My wife and I recently spent a week on business in your lovely city of Costa Mesa.
One evening as we were finishing for the day, we noticed a young kitten living in the underbrush behind the building. This poor animal was obviously starving. His rear leg had been hurt, and he was unable to move very far. We left food that evening as we could not reach him in the underbrush.
The next night when we returned, we managed to catch him as he had ventured onto the blacktop in search of food. I have never seen such a thin, pathetic little creature. We could not take him back to our hotel and did not know what to do next.
My wife checked the phone book and found a listing for “Concerned Animal Lovers Assn.†in Fullerton. We called, and they told us to come right over.
When we arrived, we found three ladies who had rented a pair of rooms in a warehouse complex. They were caring for and putting up for adoption abandoned and hurt small animals. The animals are cleaned, fed and given a checkup before being put up for adoption.
Because these people are volunteers who are not funded in any way, they are desperate for donations to keep going.
Please ask your readers to stop by and see the work these good people are doing.
