Two defensive linemen from Nevada Reno and an offensive guard from Georgia Southern were declared ineligible for today’s Division I-AA semifinal playoff game because they tested positive for steroids, the National Collegiate Athletic Assn. announced.

Suspended for 90 days were Nevada Reno starting defensive tackle Scott Martin and backup defensive tackle Lindon Lilly, and Georgia Southern starting guard James R. Carter. Martin has 31 tackles and 8 sacks this season. Lilly has 28 tackles and 1 sack.

The NCAA randomly tested 24 players--18 of them starters--from each of the winning quarterfinal teams after last Saturday’s games.

Two Eastern Kentucky players tested positive for steroids, but no names were released. No players on Arkansas State, which will play Eastern Kentucky in the other semifinal, tested positive.
