USIU Loses 4th in Row, 91-79, to Pan American
SAN DIEGO — United States International University, fading near the game’s end, suffered its fourth straight loss, 91-79, to Pan American University in Golden Hall.
Guard Tyrone Scott led five Pan American players who scored in double figures with 19 points.
USIU (0-4) took its first halftime lead of the season, 39-33. But Pan American (4-2) rallied and took the lead for good with 11 minutes left on an 8-foot jumper by forward Anthony White, who scored 15 points for the game.
The Gulls were hurt by the loss of forward Kelly Andrews, who was thrown out of the game for fighting early in the second half. Guard Joe Yezbak led USIU with 19 points and forward Russ Heicke added 18.
