Belgrade Cab Drivers Chased, Beat Official
From Reuters
BELGRADE, Yugoslavia — Scores of Belgrade taxi drivers guided by radio chased and cornered a member of Parliament after a collision, and two now face trial for beating and injuring him, a Yugoslav newspaper reported Saturday.
Belgrade’s Vecernje Novosti said police found the motorist last month with broken ribs, and the two drivers who caught him were being interrogated.
The paper did not name the member of the Serbian Republic’s assembly but suggested he was drunk when he ran into the back of a taxi and drove away without stopping.
