A trash can containing body parts was found Friday evening at a freeway rest stop in an unincorporated area north of Oceanside, according to the San Diego Sheriff’s Department.
Sheriff’s investigators were contacted about 4:30 p.m. by a Spanish-speaking man who told them he had seen some body parts in plastic bags in a trash can at the stop, a spokesman said.
The rest stop is off southbound Interstate 5 about five miles north of Oceanside.
The body parts are female, but no other details are known, the spokesman said.
