Buena Park : New Mayor Pro Tem Chosen by City Council
Rhonda J. McCune, an account executive appraiser, has been chosen the city’s mayor pro tem.
McCune was elected to the City Council in November, 1985.
Last month, the council chose Don R. Griffin, an architect, as mayor--a post he had held three times previously.
Griffin, a council member since 1974, also is chairman of the Orange County Sanitation Districts and second vice president of the Southern California Assn. of Governments.
Griffin said Wednesday that he wants the council to “step back and reassess goals and objectives for the coming year, to make sure we know what is important and where our priorities are.â€
Major tasks facing the council include managing development along busy Beach Boulevard, improving the city’s transportation system, increasing street maintenance and maintaining good police and fire protection, Griffin said.
