Artist’s East Room Painting on Reagan Christmas Cards

WASHINGTON — President and Mrs. Reagan’s Christmas card this year is a reproduction of a watercolor of the White House East Room by American artist Thomas William Jones.
The card, which will be sent to about 125,000 friends and supporters, is titled “The East Room and Christmas.” It depicts the inside of the white-and-gold room with two 16-foot blue spruce Christmas trees decorated with simulated snow and tinsel.
The message inside the card reads, “The President and Mrs. Reagan extend to you their warmest wishes for a joyous holiday season and a happy new year.”
