No. 1 Texas Women in USC Tournament

Four of the nation’s best women’s basketball teams, including top-ranked Texas, open the season tonight in the USC Tournament at the Sports Arena.

The Lady Longhorns, the defending NCAA champions, will meet Cal State Long Beach, led by forward Cindy Brown, the Pacific Coast Athletic Assn. Player of the Year, at 5 p.m. USC faces Old Dominion, coming off a rare losing season, at 7.

The championship and third-place games are Saturday, beginning at 5 p.m.
