MOYERS DECIDES TO LEAVE CBS FOR PBS

Despite intensive efforts by CBS to keep him, correspondent-commentator Bill Moyers said Thursday that he is returning to public television to produce and appear in various programs. The move marks his third tour of duty with public TV and the end of his second tour with CBS News.
CBS News President Howard Stringer accepted Moyers’ decision with “regret.” Moyers, 52, had worked for CBS since 1981 on his current contract, which expired Nov. 15.
