The City Council this week endorsed city participation in a four-city planning group organized to explore ideas and identify problems in Rancho Palos Verdes, Rolling Hills, Rolling Hills Estates and Palos Verdes Estates.
Rolling Hills and Rolling Hills Estates have endorsed participation in the group, which will be made up of the planning director and two planning commissioners from each city. Palos Verdes Estates has expressed interest but its City Council has not yet acted, said Robert Benard, Rancho Palos Verdes environmental services director.
The committee was proposed by Rancho Palos Verdes and Rolling Hills Estates officials after a developer began to draw up plans for property that straddled the two cities, said Peter VonHagen, Rancho Palos Verdes planning commission chairman.
He said the group will gather informally to explore common problems and exchange ideas.
