Man Killed, 2nd Hurt: One man was killed and another seriously injured when their vehicles collided Monday afternoon in the intersection of Placentia Avenue and 15th Street, authorities said. Police identified the victims as Wally Richer, 30, a Canadian living in Huntington Beach, who was pronounced dead on arrival at Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian. The driver of the second vehicle, Steven Shipkey, 32, of Newport Beach, was reported in stable condition. Police said Richer was driving his car across Placentia and was struck on the driver’s side by Shipkey’s pickup truck, which was southbound on Placentia.
