Nine Arrested in Cocaine Case
Nine people were arrested and an estimated $100,000 in cocaine was seized Thursday in a two-month undercover investigation involving police in Irvine, Newport Beach, Costa Mesa and Fountain Valley, authorities said.
All nine, who were taken into custody at their residences, have been booked on suspicion of selling cocaine, Irvine Police Sgt. Mike Ogden said. They were being held Thursday in lieu of $25,000 bail each at the Newport Beach and Orange County jails.
Ogden said the lengthy investigation centered on the oceanfront area of Newport Beach. Thursday’s arrest resulted in the seizure of 38 ounces of cocaine and an undetermined amount of cash. In addition, three vehicles, one boat, two handguns, one rifle and one automatic weapon were seized in five separate raids in Newport Beach, Costa Mesa and Fountain Valley, he said.
Police identified those who were arrested as Penny Bouseman, 38; Steve Bianchi, 29; Jose Rojas, 32, and Mike Poirier, 24, all of Newport Beach; also Alvaro Rodriguez, 36; Mark Fillion, 23, and Marion Clark, 19, all of Fountain Valley; Carol Onack, 30, of Costa Mesa and Daniel Morse, 23, whose address was unknown.
