Steve Allen to Aid Building Campaign
Naming of a new honorary chairman and the gift of $100,000 are keeping things rolling for the St. Barnabas Senior Center capital building campaign.
Entertainer Steve Allen will serve as honorary chairman and will be featured in public service announcements on behalf of the senior center, which is within $700,000 of its fund goal for a new and larger facility to integrate nutritional and social services and provide day care facilities for the USC/St. Barnabas Alzheimer Disease Diagnosis and Treatment Center.
St. Barnabas Senior Center officials also have announced that the Ralph M. Parsons Foundation recently made a $100,000 grant toward construction of the new center, which will allow for a 50% expansion of its services.
Last year the center assisted 24,365 unduplicated clients with 212,392 social services.
