Redondo Beach : Clerk, Treasurer Get Raises
The City Council voted 4 to 0 to introduce an ordinance setting the salaries of the city clerk and city treasurer at $4,000 a month, an $805 raise. If the ordinance is given final approval at the council’s Nov. 4 meeting, the raises would take effect after the March election, with the terms beginning April 1, 1987.
The two full-time positions would also receive a 5% salary increase each year, resulting in a salary of $4,630 after April 1, 1990, according to City Manager Tim Casey.
Both positions have paid $3,195 a month since April 1, 1983. The new salaries were recommended by Casey based on an average of pay received for those positions in 35 local cities with comparable populations.
Councilwoman Marcia Martin was not present for the vote.
