Torrance : Police Captain Appointed
For the first time in seven years, the Torrance Police Department has a new captain.
Police Chief Donald E. Nash announced the promotion of Lt. Nolan N. Dane, 41, formerly commander of the Vice and Narcotics Division, to captain.
Dane takes the position of Darryl Lanham, who is retiring. Dane will become commander of the Services Bureau, which handles support operations for the department.
A graduate of Gardena High School, Dane has a master’s degree in public administration from Pepperdine University and is a recent graduate of the FBI National Academy.
In other promotions, Wallace Murker, 45, formerly in charge of public information, became a lieutenant, and James Herren, 34, and Gilbert Kranke, 39, became sergeants.
