San Pedro : Cabrillo Advisers Honored
About 1,500 people joined a host of politicians at Cabrillo Marina on Sunday afternoon to honor a volunteer citizens advisory council that helped plan the West Channel/Cabrillo Beach recreational complex, which includes the 1,300-boat marina.
Port officials said the celebration was not a dedication ceremony since the 370-acre complex will not be completed for another two years. While the marina is open and a bike path, fishing pier and other public areas are finished, the complex is also expected to include a hotel, restaurants and several other developments.
