USIU Golfer Ties for 3rd

Laurette Maritz of United States International University shot a 230 for 54 holes at the Nancy Lopez Invitational in Tulsa, Okla., Friday to give her a tie for third place with Arizona State’s Pearl Sinn and Carey Ruffer, six strokes behind tournament champion Danielle Ammaccapane, also of Arizona State. Robin Hood of Oklahoma finished second at 227.
Arizona State won the team competition with a score of 919, 25 strokes ahead of runner-up Tulsa.
USIU finished ninth in a field of 10 teams. UCLA, the only other California school competing in the tournament, finished eighth.
