A $5.2-million trolley and bus station was unveiled Friday in Chula Vista at E Street and Interstate 5. Regular service from the transit center will begin today.
The station includes a park-and-ride lot, a taxi stand and storage for 20 bicycles. Chula Vista bus lines 705 and 706A and San Diego bus line 32 will stop at the station.
The facility, which also has a visitor information center, was funded through the County of San Diego Transportation Development Act and Chula Vista redevelopment bonds. It will be maintained by San Diego County, Chula Vista and the Metropolitan Transit Development Board.
