Signal Hill : Special Council Election Set
Signal Hill will hold a special election March 3 to replace council member David J. Bellis, who resigned last month. Council members voted 3-1 to elect someone to fill the remainder of Bellis’ term through April, 1988, rather than appoint a successor. Voting in favor of an election were Mayor Jessie Blacksmith and council members Sara Dodds and Gerard Goedhart, while Richard Ceccia favored the appointment route.
Bellis, a councilman since 1980, has moved to Lake Arrowhead and accepted a job as associate professor of public administration at California State University, San Bernardino.
