Bravo for Glendale Clerk Merle Hagemeyer and his proposal that a modest fee be charged for city clerk services.
We all beef about the tax burden of government, and it is refreshing to know that a public servant like Merle Hagemeyer is so alert to changes that will make local government more effective and less costly to the average citizen.
We are quite willing to pay for city clerk services that are a convenience or benefits to us personally, and we feel certain that most others that benefit from that information are willing to pay their fair share, too.
Three cheers for Merle Hagemeyer.
