Manhattan Beach : Hotel Tax Hike Proposed

The City Council unanimously introduced an ordinance to raise the city’s hotel occupancy tax from 7 1/2% to 8 1/2%, effective Jan. 1.
If the ordinance receives final approval at the council’s Oct. 21 meeting, the 1% increase will add an estimated $125,000 annually to city coffers, according to Finance Director Merle F. Lundberg.
