Bangladesh Teachers End Lengthy Strike

DHAKA, Bangladesh — About 2,500 university teachers ended a monthlong strike Tuesday after authorities appointed a special committee to consider their demands.
The committee, made up of representatives from the government and the universities, will submit its report to President Hussain Mohammed Ershad, chancellor of the universities, by Oct. 25, a teachers’ spokesman said.
