Authorities were holding a 16-year-old boy in the shooting death of his mother and a baseball-bat attack on his stepfather in Boulder Creek, Santa Cruz County sheriff’s deputies said. Investigators said the mother, Jerrilei Lee, 33, was dead on arrival at a nearby hospital. The stepfather, Bruce Lee, 43, said he was attacked by the bat-wielding youth when he returned home from work.
