Sun Co. said it is selling a trucking subsidiary.
A group that includes Kidder, Peabody & Co., Bankers Trust New York Corp. and Riordan Freeman & Spogli, a Los Angeles-based merchant banking firm, will pay $180 million for Sun Carriers Inc., the Radnor, Pa.-based energy company reported. The unit comprises three regional carriers: St. Johnsbury Trucking, operating in 15 Northeastern states and Canada; Jones Truck Lines, serving 19 South-Central and Midwestern states, and Milne Truck Lines, serving 11 Western states, Alaska and Hawaii.
