Following the Trends

Is the whole San Fernando Valley made up of Valley girls?
It amuses me how Valley people will follow any trend. While the really rich don’t care to conform, and the very poor can’t, our affluent Valley people follow like sheep when it is the mode to be “into” this or that.
For example, once they all drove Cadillacs. Then it had to be the Mercedes. Now it is the Jaguar. First it was popular to be “into” biking, then running, then aerobics, and what next? Everyone wore their little tennis suits everywhere, then their jogging suits and now their aerobic suits--every item of apparel had to be perfect, or you were not in the “game.” What compulsion is in effect? Don’t they have the ability to be happy otherwise? I’d like to know.
