Motorcyclist Killed, Passenger Injured
IMPERIAL BEACH — An 18-year-old sailor died late Friday and his passenger was seriously injured when the motorcycle they were on collided with another vehicle on Palm Avenue.
The victims’ names are being withheld pending notification of their relatives, a San Diego Sheriff’s Department spokesman said.
The accident occurred about 11:15 p.m. when the motorcycle struck a vehicle at Palm Avenue and 11th Street.
The driver was pronounced dead at Bay Hospital a short time later, and his passenger was reported in serious condition at UC San Diego Medical Center.
No one in the other vehicle was injured in the accident.
