MONTVALE, N.Y. — Mercedes-Benz of North America says it will replace the engine camshafts on 366 of its 1986 model 300E cars to bring them into compliance with U.S. government standards. The German auto maker said that European-specification camshafts were installed in the luxury cars by mistake, and they will be replaced with U.S.-approved parts free of charge.
