AND WAIT, THERE’S MORE: Michael Mann’s new TV style-ganza, “Crime Story,†won’t just have the right cars (T-Birds) for its early ‘60s setting. The show’s opening theme will be a new version of Del Shannon’s “Runaway,†which has been re-recorded by Shannon himself. . . . The Residents, who bill themselves as “The World’s Most Popular Unknown Musicians,†are now available on compact disc. The band has put together a pair of CD-only compilations, culled from a dozen of the group’s albums. One CD, “Heaven?,†includes such songs as “H.E.L.L. No!,†“Serenade for Missy,†“Whatever Happened to Vileness Fats†and “It’s a Man’s Man’s World.†The other collection, “Hell!,†offers “Shut Up! Shut Up!,†“Smelly Tongues†and “Monkey and Bunny.†. . . Let’s give a cheer to PolyGram Records, which has released Vol. 4 of its continuing “Hank Williams Series,†which documents the country music legend’s extensive recording career. This compilation, a double-album set featuring Williams songs from March to August of 1949, includes such milestones as “I’m So Lonesome I Could Cryâ€--which was originally recorded in Cincinnati, not Nashville--and a rare, unreleased home recording of “Fool About You.†. . . Meanwhile, patience is the byword for Def Leppard fans. The band’s new album has now been pushed back to January, making it four years since the group’s last studio album. . . . And if Cramps fans listen closely, they’ll hear the band’s classic “Goo-Goo Muck†in “Texas Chainsaw Massacre Part 2.â€
