Pasadena : No S. Africa Investments
Pasadena has no investments in South Africa, according to a city study recently completed at the request of Stephen Mack, head of the local chapter of National Assn. for the Advancement of Colored People. Presented at this week’s meeting of the Board of City Directors, the study encompassed all city investments except those made by the Fire and Police Retirement System. A separate study of those investments is in progress.
City officials are also studying whether to propose an ordinance similar to one recently passed in Los Angeles that prohibits the city from doing business with companies operating in racially segregated South Africa.
