The settlement required Litton Systems, a unit of Beverly Hills-based Litton Industries, to pay the federal government $6,128,997 for filing 300 false claims with the Defense Department. The payment settled the company’s civil liability that resulted from its July 15 guilty plea to criminal charges that it inflated the price of materials during contract talks with the Pentagon. The settlement brings Litton’s payment in the case to $15.32 million.
