A combination of big-name entertainers, good livestock, an exciting rodeo and great weather allowed the 94th annual Orange County Fair in Costa Mesa to set an attendance record this year.
In all, 425,500 people showed up during the fair’s 10-day run, including a single-day record of 67,499 on the Saturday of the fair’s last weekend.
The previous fair attendance record, set in 1981, was surpassed by 55,600 this year. In 1985, 362,907 pushed their way through the turnstiles.
