A Bulgarian state airline jet was seized under a court order in Istanbul, Turkey, on behalf of relatives seeking compensation for the death of a Turkish citizen in a 1984 crash of a Bulgarian airliner, airport officials said. The Soviet-made Tupolev 154 landed at Istanbul’s Ataturk Airport on a flight from Sofia but was not permitted to leave. Its 135 passengers were allowed to board another aircraft. Bulgaria demanded that Turkey release the plane.
