Malibu : Beach Project Dedicated
A $638,000 improvement project at Topanga State Beach, including a lifeguard tower, first-aid station, restrooms and parking, has been dedicated by county and state officials. Two unpaved parking lots, four portable bathrooms and a house used by lifeguards were replaced by a 1,400-square-foot structure housing health facilities, a paved parking lot for 95 vehicles, concrete stairs from the bluff parking lot to the beach, an irrigation system and a paved emergency access road. The project was financed by the county, state and federal governments.
