Assembly’s Vote on Tom Hayden
The fact is that Article VII, Section 9 of the California Constitution forbids any person or organization which advocates the overthrow of the government of the United States by force or violence or other unlawful means or who advocates the support of a foreign government against the United States in the event of hostilities from holding office.
Tom Hayden did violate that act when he went to Hanoi and aided and abetted our enemy--the Communist government of North Vietnam.
Despite thes facts, the Democratic majority in the State Assembly voted to retain Tom Hayden in office. Shades of Watergate.
