Du Pont agreed to sell its U.S. cellophane business.
Du Pont, which introduced cellophane to the United States in 1924, said it will be sold to its only American cellophane competitor--Flexel Inc. of Atlanta. Flexel makes cellophane at a plant in Covington, Ind., and will acquire Du Pont’s cellophane plant in Tecumseh, Kan., in the deal. The price was not disclosed.
