The Cleveland Cavaliers’ contract with John Williams, the former Tulane basketball star who was cleared of point-shaving allegations earlier this month, has been approved by the National Basketball Assn.
Williams was chosen by the Cavaliers in the second round of the draft last year, but he sat out the season while the point-shaving charges were tried in court. The Cavaliers signed him to the contract after he was acquitted June 16.
Williams is the starting center for Staten Island in the United States Basketball League this summer.
